Water element has a strong symbolic importance and status in Arab culture for many centuries. One of the essential five natural elements, Water is commonly known for its calming and qualities, which are conducive to healing and promoting a sense of well-being.

According to some people, water evokes emotions, intelligence and imagination. It is also believed to help balance and promote harmony and prosperity in one’s life.

The conceptual idea underlying this design deals with the celebratory and poetic value of water, which is synonymous with the joy, movement, and energy associated with a grand sporting event. These ideas are captured by an undulating ribbon that wraps around the stadium, like a river, and a stadium roof that represents ripples in water surface.
